As students head back-to-school, remind your teen drivers of these simple ways to stay ahead of the curve and out of a fender bender.
Leave for school early. Don’t rush around. It seems impossible, but :10 minutes can be the difference in avoiding traffic.
Stow your phone while driving. Your friends are distracting enough, a phone and a steering wheel do not belong together.
Limit your passengers. Select your company carefully. If someone is notorious for distracting you while you drive, tell them to hitch a ride with someone else. Make your passengers wear their seat belts.
Bring in your vehicle for a safety inspection and keep up with your maintenance. Know how your car is operating. If your brakes aren’t the greatest, you may want to avoid riding someone’s bumper.
